Earlier Report Observations

The market volume for tomato juice in Uzbekistan declined from 2 041 thousand liters in 2018 to 1 717 thousand liters in 2020, a drop largely attributed to disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The subsequent recovery pushed the market back up, reaching 2 151 thousand liters in 2023, surpassing the pre-pandemic level.

While tomato juice remained a niche segment, the overall juice industry in Uzbekistan saw steady expansion, providing a favorable backdrop. High tomato yields offered a raw material base, and the entry of new player AO «BIOFRUT» into juice production using Chinese technology marked a step toward potential development in the sector.
