This growth was primarily driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, which heightened consumer focus on healthy eating and home cooking, boosting demand for fresh produce. Additionally, the rise of e-commerce facilitated easier access to fresh spinach, supporting market volume during this period.

After peaking in 2021, the market contracted to 18 629 tons in 2022 and further to 16 416 tons in 2023. Throughout these years, consumer preferences continued to shift toward organic and premium spinach varieties, and online sales channels remained a significant distribution factor, even as total market volume declined.
