During this period, consumer preferences strongly shifted towards organic, natural, and additive-free sesame oil, sustained by healthy lifestyle trends. While climate change and natural disasters increased production costs in 2022, robust demand for high-quality oil helped maintain stable market volumes.

The Turkish market remained characterized by a high reliance on imported sesame seeds to meet domestic consumption. The sector saw a continued focus on quality standards and the entry of new producers, particularly in the cold-pressed segment, alongside growing sesame oil exports to international markets.
