Market growth accelerated sharply in 2023, with production jumping to 2 656 thousand tonnes and domestic market volume reaching 1 568 thousand tonnes. This surge was directly driven by a nearly 50% increase in rapeseed oil production the same year, significantly raising oilcake yields. Furthermore, a renewed ban on the export of rapeseed seeds, with certain exceptions, likely encouraged more domestic processing of the raw material, further supporting oil and oilcake output.

Recent developments include a notable expansion of export channels, such as a 2.5-fold increase in shipments of rapeseed oilcake from Russia's Altai region to China. Investments in modernizing extraction equipment also aim to enhance production efficiency for vegetable oils and their solid residues.
