In 2018, Mauritius produced its lowest pumpkin, squash, and gourd output at 17 414 tonnes. Production then surged by 31.1% in 2019 to reach a peak of 22 835 tonnes. However, in 2020, output declined by 9.0% to 20 777 tonnes. The most significant production drop occurred in 2018, when it fell by 16.4%.
