Hungary's exports of polyurethane in primary forms increased for the third consecutive year. In 2021, the country exported 5 012 tonnes, which is 105.9% higher than in 2020. From 2018 to 2021, exports grew by 286.1%, with an annualized rate of 56.9%.

After a two-year decrease, Hungary's imports of polyurethane in primary forms increased in 2021. Imports totalled 52 650 thousand US dollars, showing a strong rise of 21.3% compared to 2020. Over the period 2018-2021, imports grew by 11%, with a compound annual growth rate of 3.5%. The lowest value was recorded in 2020 at 43 418 thousand US dollars, with the largest decline that year at 6.4%.
