Development within the meat processing industry, evidenced by the ranking of top 20 companies, also supported capacity growth.

Market volume contracted sharply to 16 467 metric tons in 2021, a decline of over 30% from the previous year. It then rebounded to 19 465 metric tons in 2022, aided by sustained production and consumption trends for meat semi-finished products and sausages.

In 2023, the market stabilized at 19 086 metric tons. This period saw a significant tightening of supply due to a 42% reduction in pork imports from Europe. New veterinary rules introduced by Russia's Ministry of Agriculture also altered production conditions, contributing to the market's adjustment.
