This growth of nearly 490 thousand tons reflected a consistent upward trajectory despite annual fluctuations, highlighting the market's overall resilience and increasing scale over the period.

A notable surge in 2019 drove the market to 3.59 million tons, followed by a slight contraction in 2020. The market recovered and continued to grow through 2021 and 2022, reaching a peak of 3.75 million tons, before stabilizing at a slightly lower level in 2023. Domestic production mirrored this pattern, achieving its highest output in 2022, while imports also showed a general upward trend, contributing to total supply.

After rising for two consecutive years, Peru's poultry meat and offal production declined in 2020. That year, the country produced 3 447 thousand tons, representing a 2.2% decrease compared to 2019. Over the entire 2017-2020 period, production grew by 17.7%, which translates to an average annual growth rate of 5.6%. The highest production level was recorded in 2019 at 3 526 thousand tons, when output increased by 11.4% year-over-year.
