The market volume for aggregates in Slovakia fell from 18.7 million t in 2018 to 10.4 million t in 2024. The initial decline was driven by the industry's dependence on foreign markets and raw materials, which pressured producers to optimize output. The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 further disrupted supply chains and reduced construction activity, accelerating the contraction.

A temporary rebound in 2022 lifted volume to 12.6 million t, supported by ongoing infrastructure projects and a construction boom. However, from 2023, persistent inflation, soaring energy prices, and higher labor costs squeezed demand, while the closure of concrete plants such as BRA-VUR in 2024 limited local availability. New quality regulations for aggregates introduced in 2022 also reshaped production standards.

The highest value was recorded in 2018 at 125.7 M $ US, which marked a 16.3% increase from the previous year. The largest decline occurred in 2019, with a drop of 19.5%.

The largest decline was recorded in 2019, with a drop of 14.6%.
