In 2020, Peru produced 135.0 K t of peas, marking a 4.6% increase from the previous year. Over the 2017-2020 period, production grew by 3.4%, averaging an annual growth rate of 1.1%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2019 at 129.1 K t, while the highest was in 2018 at 138.4 K t. The largest year-on-year decline occurred in 2019 with a 6.7% drop, whereas the biggest increase was in 2018 with a 5.9% rise.

Following two years of decline, Peru's pea production volume rebounded. In 2020, the output was valued at 467.3 M $ US, up 5.2% from the previous year. However, over the entire 2017-2020 period, production value decreased by 2.1%, with a compound annual growth rate of -0.7%. Peru's pea exports grew for the third consecutive year. In 2020, exports reached 8 964 t, a 3.3% increase from 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports surged by 69.6%, with an average annual growth rate of 19.3%.

From 2017 to 2020, the United States (37.5% of exports in kind), the United Kingdom (34.0% of exports in kind), and the Netherlands (21.7% of exports in kind) remained the top buyers of Peruvian peas, collectively accounting for 93.2% of total exports in kind.
