This period saw regional influences such as expanded pea cultivation and yield improvements in neighboring Kazakhstan, a key supplier, while global factors like reduced world production and high prices in 2020, alongside COVID-19 logistical disruptions, supported local output and limited import flows.

Starting in 2021, the market grew to over 1 040 tons, driven by a sharp increase in pea imports to CIS countries, including Kyrgyzstan. Imports rose from zero to 39 tons in 2021 and further to 44 tons in 2022, becoming the primary driver of market expansion during these years.

In 2023, the market volume contracted slightly to 1 017 tons. This coincided with increased pea exports from Russia and Kazakhstan to other markets, which likely reduced import availability for Kyrgyzstan and contributed to the downturn.
