The domestic pea market continued to grow in 2023, reaching 34.4 million US dollars, driven by product diversification into new trends such as vegan foods and natural juices. Efforts to strengthen the agricultural value chain and a focus on meeting international regulations prepared Guatemalan peas for global markets. By 2024, the broader food and beverage sector, which includes fresh peas, remained a key export contributor, supported by a competitive landscape of over 2,000 companies.
