Earlier Report Observations

The market volume for peaches and nectarines in Latin America and the Caribbean showed volatility between 2018 and 2023, declining from 1 141 thousand tonnes in 2018 to 973 thousand tonnes in 2020 before recovering to 1 139 thousand tonnes in 2021 and stabilizing around 1 140 thousand tonnes in the following two years.

Agricultural technification advanced in key producing countries like Chile, where efficient logistics and modern practices enhanced export competitiveness. At the same time, rising consumer spending and a shift toward healthier eating habits bolstered demand for fresh fruit, including peaches and nectarines.

The recovery of intraregional trade and the expansion of retail food networks improved distribution and sales. Leading exporters such as Mexico and Chile strengthened their market presence, benefiting from a favorable environment for agro-exports.
