Earlier Report Observations

The particle board market in the MENA region underwent a substantial downturn starting in 2020. After peaking at 4 574 thousand m³ in 2019, market volume fell sharply to 2 164 thousand m³ in 2020 and continued to decline to 1 881 thousand m³ in 2021.

A partial recovery lifted the market to 2 102 thousand m³ in 2022, but volume contracted again to 1 790 thousand m³ in 2023. This overall lower market level coincided with a steep drop in imports, which receded from 3 723 thousand m³ in 2019 to a range of 1 200–1 500 thousand m³ in the following years, while domestic production began to decline after 2021.
