Production of coniferous roundwood in the MENA region increased from 8.2 million cubic meters in 2018 to 8.5 million cubic meters in 2022, before easing to 8.4 million cubic meters in 2023. This overall growth was primarily fueled by rising regional demand for coniferous wood, which encouraged higher output.

Export dynamics introduced variability into production levels. Exports peaked in 2018, providing an initial lift, but remained at lower volumes in the following years. This reduction in external demand contributed to the production dip in 2023, as the market adjusted to softer export conditions.

Following two consecutive years of growth, MENA's roundwood coniferous production experienced a decline. In 2019, production reached its peak at 8 200 K m³. The following year, in 2020, output remained relatively stable at 8 179 K m³, showing no significant year-over-year change. The most notable increase occurred in 2018, when production rose by 0.4%.
