Earlier Report Observations

The orange juice market in China grew from 80.7 million liters in 2018 to 134.1 million liters in 2023, driven by the expansion of production companies and supply chains, as well as growing consumer demand for healthy products such as low-sugar and additive-free juices. Technological innovations, including cold-pressing and aseptic packaging, improved product quality and shelf life, supporting market growth.

In 2020, market volume temporarily dropped to 67.9 million liters due to global orange supply challenges caused by climate fluctuations. However, the market recovered and surged to 113.5 million liters in 2021, fueled by the emergence of new product segments like functional juices with added vitamins and dietary fiber, along with increased focus on sustainable production.

Growth continued in 2022 and 2023, reaching 134.1 million liters, aided by the digitalization of production, which enhanced traceability and consumer engagement, as well as flavor innovations. Despite global climate anomalies that raised raw material prices, the Chinese orange juice market continued to expand due to strong domestic demand for healthy and natural products.
