This was reinforced in 2019 by a three-year ban on raw timber exports, which redirected logs to domestic processors and sustained demand for raw material. Investment in mechanized processing lines by major players like Grupo Abílio Amorim from 2020 onward enhanced production efficiency and capacity for the sawn wood industry, which in turn required more roundwood.

The market's formalization continued with certified companies like ABWIK Wood strengthening their operations in 2021, while growing domestic furniture and carpentry manufacturing in 2022 increased local consumption of Angolan timber. A government suspension of all cutting and transport activities in early 2022 aimed to control exploitation but did not halt the underlying growth trend, as internal demand from the processing sector remained robust.

Significant further investment in Cabinda province in 2023 expanded production facilities for processed wood, capitalizing on the export ban on raw logs and supporting continued demand for roundwood as feedstock. Throughout the period, production volume grew steadily, driven by regulatory measures to boost legal harvesting and sustained investment in the value-adding transformation industry.
