The market volume for not chemically modified linseed oil and its fractions in the MENA region experienced significant volatility from 2018 to 2023. Starting at 12,048 t in 2018, consumption dropped sharply to 9,573 t the following year before recovering to 10,243 t in 2020. A strong rebound occurred over the next two years, with volume rising to 9,984 t in 2022 and reaching 11,285 t in 2023. This recovery was supported by a surge in imports to 4,554 t in 2023, which helped compensate for a general downward trend in domestic production over the period.

MENA's production of linseed oil and fractions has declined for the second year in a row. In 2020, the region produced 7 726 tonnes, marking a 5.3% decrease from the previous year. Looking at the period from 2017 to 2020, production fell by 23.3%, with an average annual decline of 8.5%. The highest production level was recorded in 2018 at 11 219 tonnes, which saw an 11.4% increase that year. However, the largest drop occurred in 2019, with a significant 27.2% decrease.
