Between 2018 and 2023, domestic production of linseed oil and fractions in Poland fell steadily from 16,300 t to 9,500 t, a decline of over 40%. This drop occurred alongside a volatile market size, which peaked at 17,095 t in 2022 before retreating to 13,351 t in 2023.

The contraction in local output was offset by a growing reliance on imports, which nearly doubled from 2,237 t to 4,308 t over the same period. At the same time, exports collapsed from 3,970 t to just 457 t, redirecting more supply to the domestic market.

The overall market volume showed significant swings, with the sharp rise in 2022 largely attributable to a surge in imports that year. By 2023, both production and market size had retreated, indicating a market adjusting to changing supply conditions and demand patterns.

In 2020, the country produced 14 500 tonnes, representing a slight decrease of 0.7% compared to the previous year. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, production fell by 2.5%, which translates to an average annual decline of 0.8%. The highest production level was recorded in 2018 at 16 300 tonnes, marking a 9.6% increase from the previous year. The most significant drop occurred in 2019, with a 10.4% decrease.

The lowest export volume was observed in 2020, while the highest occurred in 2018, with a peak-to-trough ratio of 3.4 times. In 2020, Poland's exports of linseed oil and fractions totalled 1 174 tonnes, a sharp decline of 66.0% from 2019. The maximum export volume was recorded in 2018 at 3 970 tonnes, which represented a substantial increase of 215.9% from the previous year.

Between 2017 and 2020, the structure of exports in kind was characterized by Germany's dominance, which accounted for 74.0% of total flows, alongside a large number of smaller trading partners.

Noticeable fluctuations were observed in market performance during this period. The lowest export value was recorded in 2017, while the highest was in 2018, reflecting a threefold gap.
