A recovery to 4 018 thousand tons occurred in 2021, driven by higher grape yields and increased winemaking production, stimulated by legislative changes including a new winemaking law that raised purchase prices. Nevertheless, persistent sanctions limiting equipment imports and ongoing geopolitical instability led to a decline to 3 828 thousand tons by 2023, despite investments in new vineyard development.

Looking at the period from 2017 to 2020, production fell by 13.5%, with an average annual decline of 4.7%. The highest production level was recorded in 2018 at 3 894 thousand tonnes, marking a 7.8% increase from the previous year. However, the largest drop occurred in 2019, with an 11.2% decrease.
