The grape market in Jordan experienced a significant contraction between 2018 and 2021, with total market volume falling from 62 312 t to 40 069 t. This decline was driven by a steady reduction in domestic production, which dropped from 59 755 t to 39 361 t over the period, while imports also decreased moderately.

A temporary recovery occurred in 2022, as market volume rebounded to 49 362 t, supported by a rise in production to 46 103 t and higher imports. However, the market contracted again in 2023 to 41 941 t. During this year, a noted rise in grape leaf prices at the Al-Aboor market pointed to underlying shifts in local supply and demand conditions, coinciding with the drop in domestic output to 39 543 t.

Entering 2024, several developments signaled potential market shifts. The number of registered companies in Jordan increased, suggesting possible new entrants into agricultural sectors. Additionally, inflation fell to 2.1% and labor market conditions improved, which could support consumer spending on fruits like grapes. Sales of berries and grapes were reported to have reached $8.3 million, indicating sustained demand.

The peak production was recorded in 2018 at 59 755 tonnes, with the largest annual increase of 11.7% also occurring that year.
