From 2018 to 2023, Pakistan's goat meat market showed steady growth in physical volume. Production rose from 478 thousand tons to 546 thousand tons, while the domestic market size expanded from 476.7 thousand tons to 545.8 thousand tons over the same period.

In value terms, the market also strengthened, with production value increasing from $2.97 billion to $4.21 billion. The pace of value growth moderated in 2023 after sharper rises in earlier years. Exports declined significantly, from 1.3 thousand tons in 2018 to 0.2 thousand tons in 2023.

With no imports recorded throughout the period, the market was supplied entirely by domestic production. The consistent annual increases in output ensured a growing availability of goat meat for local consumption.

Pakistan's goat meat production value increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, the output was valued at 3 514 million US dollars, representing a 4.4% rise from the previous year. Between 2017 and 2020, production value grew by 6.9%, with an average annual growth rate of 2.3%. The lowest value was recorded in 2018 at 2 968 million US dollars, which saw the largest decline of 9.7%. In contrast, 2019 experienced the largest increase of 13.4%.

The largest increase occurred in 2018, with a jump of 70.7%.

From 2017 to 2020, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain were the leading destinations for Pakistan's goat meat exports in volume terms. The UAE accounted for 33.7% of exports, Saudi Arabia for 25.9%, and Bahrain for 19.8%, together making up 79.4% of total flows.
