Growth was sustained by the adoption of a new Ordinance in August 2022, which introduced stricter EU-aligned labeling rules, composition standards—including a limit on added sugars—and mandatory HACCP principles for juice processing. These regulatory changes aimed to improve product transparency and quality, coinciding with a reported 6.7% volume increase in soft drink sales early that year.

After peaking in 2022, the market contracted to 39.1 million liters in 2023, with domestic production and imports both declining.
