The concurrent rapid growth of the frozen food market added both competitive pressure and product variety for chilled duck offerings.

In 2023, the market volume contracted to 163.9 thousand tons. This decline was largely driven by harsh weather conditions and disease outbreaks that negatively impacted duck farming yields, reducing domestic supply.
