Earlier Report Observations

From 2018 to 2019, the fresh grapes market in Vietnam expanded by 26.5% to reach 71.5 thousand tons. This growth was driven by the modernization of retail distribution channels and the rising consumer preference for safe, high-quality fresh produce under the 'eat well, live healthy' trend.

The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020‑2021 altered consumption patterns, boosting demand for securely packaged and safe foods. Although market volume dipped slightly in 2020 to 68.0 thousand tons, it stabilized around 68.5 thousand tons in 2021 as agri‑businesses invested in cold‑chain logistics and centralized processing to maintain product quality.

In 2022, the market surged by 41.9% to 97.2 thousand tons, largely due to sustained green consumption trends and improved cold‑chain infrastructure that facilitated higher imports. The following year, market volume fell to 78.4 thousand tons amid broader economic headwinds.
