From 2018 to 2023, the Colombian market for fresh or chilled edible brassicas underwent a sustained contraction, with volume declining from 110.1 thousand tons to 63.8 thousand tons. This represented an overall reduction of approximately 42% across the six-year period.

The most significant single-year decrease occurred in 2020, when the market shrank by around 34%. Following this sharp drop, the downward trend continued at a more moderate rate, with annual declines between 2% and 6% through the end of 2023.

Colombia's production of edible brassicas has declined for the second year in a row. In 2020, the country produced 70,684 tonnes, which represents a significant 33.9% decrease compared to the previous year. The highest production level was recorded in 2018 at 110,117 tonnes, which also saw the largest increase of 9.5% during this timeframe.
