Colombia's production of pumpkins, squash, and gourds has grown for the second year in a row. In 2020, the country produced 192.3 thousand tons, marking a significant 37.4% increase from 2019. Looking at the period from 2017 to 2020, production rose by 49.8%, which translates to an average annual growth rate of 14.4%. The lowest output was in 2018, at 110.1 thousand tons, when production fell by 14.2%.

Colombia's exports of pumpkins, squash, and gourds have expanded for the third consecutive year. In 2020, the country shipped 519.5 tons abroad, up 27.5% from 2019. Over the 2017–2020 span, exports surged by 384.3%, averaging an impressive 69.2% annual growth rate.

From 2017 to 2020, two key markets—Curacao and Aruba—dominated Colombia's exports in volume, jointly making up 89.8% of the total. The rest was spread across a variety of other countries.

The market showed notable volatility during these years. Export values swung widely, with a 4.2-fold difference between the peak in 2019 and the low in 2017. In 2020, cross-border shipments were valued at 233.8 thousand US dollars, a slight 0.6% dip from 2019. The highest value was recorded in 2019 at 235.3 thousand US dollars, following a sharp 161.6% jump in 2018.

In the 2017–2020 period, Curacao and Aruba together accounted for 80.8% of Colombia's export revenue from pumpkins, squash, and gourds. Other countries contributed to a more diverse but smaller share of the total value.
