From 2022, the domestic market volume contracted, reaching 447 t in 2023. This decline coincided with a surge in exports, which rose to 206 t in 2023, diverting supply away from the local market. Export growth was supported by expanded market access to destinations including the United States, China, and several European nations.

Industry developments highlighted the ongoing influence of biosecurity regulations, which required ducks to be raised in controlled barn environments.
