However, market volume contracted over the next two years, falling to 440.7 thousand tons in 2019 and further to 427.0 thousand tons in 2020.

A recovery occurred in 2021, with market volume rising back to 440.7 thousand tons. This increase was supported by higher per capita chicken consumption, which reached 43 kg, and an expansion in domestic production volumes.

The market experienced another contraction in 2022, dropping to 427.3 thousand tons, before rebounding to 440.1 thousand tons in 2023.
