Earlier Report Observations

The U.S. dried grapes market began the period with expansion, as volume grew from 226 thousand tons in 2018 to 231 thousand tons in 2019. This initial rise was supported by a significant 38% increase in domestic production volume during 2018, which bolstered overall market supply.

A sharp contraction occurred in 2020, reducing market volume to 147 thousand tons. A recovery phase followed, with volume climbing to 159 thousand tons in 2021 and further to 179 thousand tons in 2022.

Growth continued through 2023, with market volume reaching 194 thousand tons. This increase aligned with a rise in consumption driven by health-conscious consumer preferences and growing demand from the bakery, snack, and confectionery sectors. The market environment is further shaped by ongoing trends toward organic and sustainable products, as well as technological advances such as the use of autonomous robots in grape breeding programs.
