After 2021, the market volume contracted to 12 195 tons in 2022 and further to 11 355 tons in 2023. This decline coincided with lower production levels and increased exports of 205 tons in 2022, which reduced domestic availability.

In 2020, Ghana produced 9 300 tonnes of cotton seeds, showing little change from the previous year. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 7 500 tonnes, which represented a 19.4% decline from the prior year. However, production rebounded significantly in 2019 with a 24.0% increase.
