Exports cosmetics and skin care from Croatia

Croatia's cosmetics and skin care exports declined for the second consecutive year. In 2020, exports reached 3 103 tonnes, reflecting a modest decrease of 6.6% compared to the previous year. Between 2017 and 2020, exports fell by 12.3%, equating to an annualized rate of 4.3%. The highest volume was recorded in 2018 at 3 563 tonnes, which also experienced the largest annual increase of 0.7%. In contrast, 2019 saw the largest decline of 6.8%.

From 2017 to 2020, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia were the principal buyers of Croatian cosmetics and skin care in volume terms. Serbia accounted for 27.7% of exports, Bosnia and Herzegovina for 14.3%, and Slovenia for 13.7%. Together, these three countries represented 55.7% of total export volumes.

After a two-year increase, Croatia's cosmetics and skin care export value declined. In 2020, exports totaled 97.3 million US dollars, down by 4.9% year-over-year. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports grew by 38.1%, with a compound annual growth rate of 11.4%. The peak value was recorded in 2019 at 102.2 million US dollars, while 2018 saw the largest annual increase of 27.1%.
