Earlier Report Observations
From 2018 to 2019, the market volume for coffee extracts, essences and concentrates in Russia increased from 101 thousand t to 109 thousand t. This growth was driven by expanding domestic consumption of instant coffee and extract-based products, along with a wider product range from local manufacturers.
The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 disrupted supply chains, leading to a contraction of the market to 97 thousand t. In the following years, geopolitical sanctions and rising exports contributed to a further decline, with the market falling to 85 thousand t by 2022.
By 2023-2024 the market stabilized and began to recover, reaching 93 thousand t in 2024 as producers adapted to the new conditions. Changes in the OKPD2 classifiers introduced in 2022 and preparations for mandatory labeling, scheduled for 2025-2026, also shaped the industry landscape.
