Earlier Report Observations

The cinnamon market volume in the Americas experienced significant fluctuations between 2018 and 2023. Starting at 33 636 t in 2018, consumption fell to 28 195 t in 2019 before a slight stabilization around 28 775 t in 2020. A sharp contraction followed, dropping the market to 18 714 t in 2021 and a further low of 17 237 t in 2022. A recovery began in 2023, with the market expanding to 22 860 t.

By 2024, market consumption rebounded to approximately 28 000 t. This growth was supported by the launch of new cinnamon-containing products from major food companies, such as Blaze Pizza's cinnamon-frosted bread and Egglife Foods' cinnamon egg white wraps, which expanded product availability and stimulated demand. Additionally, the establishment of a dedicated Cinnamon Development Department in Sri Lanka aimed at boosting global cultivation and exports helped secure supply chains for the Americas region, while sustained consumer interest in natural and health-beneficial ingredients continued to underpin market expansion.
