The Armenian chicken meat and offal market experienced significant fluctuations between 2018 and 2023. Starting at 45 006 t, consumption surged by 24% to 55 767 t in 2019, marking the highest volume in the period. However, this peak was followed by an 18.6% contraction to 45 402 t in 2020.

Market volume partially recovered in 2021, rising 16.7% to 52 963 t. The following years saw a stabilization phase, with a slight decrease of 1.8% to 52 003 t in 2022 and a further minor decline of 0.9% to 51 525 t in 2023. Domestic production showed a gradual increase from 12 300 t in 2018 to 14 600 t in 2021 before easing to 13 800 t in 2023, while imports remained the dominant supply source.

By 2023, the overall market size had grown 14.5% compared to 2018, indicating an expanded consumption base despite the volatile intermediate years.

Armenia's chicken meat and offal production has grown for the third year in a row. In 2020, the country produced 12,600 tons, showing a modest increase of 1.6% compared to 2019. From 2017 to 2020, Brazil and Ukraine were the main buyers of chicken meat and offal from Armenia, together accounting for 97.9% of total exports by volume. Other partners played a much smaller role during this period.

From 2017 to 2020, the United States, Ukraine, and Brazil were the top suppliers of chicken meat and offal to Armenia by volume, with shares of 29.3%, 24.8%, and 16.7%, respectively. Together, these three countries accounted for 70.7% of Armenia's total imports in kind.

During 2017-2020, Ukraine, Brazil, and the United States were the leading sources for Armenia's chicken meat and offal imports by value, with shares of 26.0%, 24.1%, and 23.9%, respectively. Combined, they represented 74.0% of total import flows in value terms.
