Armenia's cherry production declined for the second year in a row. In 2019, production stood at 15,973 tonnes, but by 2020 it had dropped to 13,673 tonnes, marking a significant 14.4% decrease. Over the entire 2017-2020 period, production grew by 9%, which translates to an average annual increase of 2.9%. The peak was in 2018, with 17,254 tonnes produced, representing the largest annual jump of 37.6%.

Exports cherries from Armenia

Armenia's cherry exports have been rising for three consecutive years. In 2019, exports were 663 tonnes, and by 2020 they surged to 1,234 tonnes, an impressive 86.2% increase. From 2017 to 2020, exports expanded by 8,271.7%, with a compound annual growth rate of 337.5%.

In 2017, imports were at their lowest at 0.05 tonnes, but by 2019 they peaked at 588 tonnes, reflecting a massive 11,202-fold difference. In 2020, imports decreased to 519 tonnes, down 11.8% from the previous year. The largest annual increase occurred in 2019, with a jump of 179,204.6%.
