Export markets also widened, including efforts to access Chinese and Far Eastern destinations. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic shifted consumer behavior toward online sales channels, helping to sustain domestic demand.

After reaching a peak in 2020, the market volume declined to 803 thousand tons in 2021 and further to 775 thousand tons in 2022.

In 2023, the market rebounded to 865 thousand tons. Production rose by 6.3% as the share of non-fruiting trees fell by 4.5%, improving overall yield. Companies such as DCT Trading strengthened their export operations using technology-integrated farming models and continued to pursue new markets, including China and South Korea.
