Earlier Report Observations

In 2019, the Belarusian casein market expanded to 7 931 tons, a 15.8% increase from 6 847 tons in 2018. This growth was supported by dairy export diversification efforts, including casein, which helped maintain production at 9 175 tons. A concurrent drop in exports to 1 256 tons made more volume available for the domestic market.

Market size then experienced fluctuations, declining to 7 478 tons in 2020 and 7 254 tons in 2021, before a partial recovery to 7 435 tons in 2022. A slight contraction to 7 328 tons followed in 2023. Over the full 2018-2023 period, the market grew by 7%, reflecting an overall upward trend despite annual variations.

By 2024, the strategy of export diversification continued, with casein exports surging to 3 142 tons. This sharp increase underscores the ongoing focus of Belarusian dairy companies on securing and expanding international sales channels for casein.
