Market volume reached its highest point of 641 thousand tonnes in 2022, driven by a significant influx of imports, which more than doubled to 102 thousand tonnes. Strong early-year shipments from Uzbekistan notably increased the available supply on the domestic market. Concurrently, official statements confirmed the absence of a cabbage shortage, indicating that the domestic harvest was sufficient to meet demand alongside imported volumes, helping to stabilize prices.

In 2023, the market contracted sharply to 578 thousand tonnes, returning to a level near that of 2018. This decline was primarily due to a more than halving of imports, which fell to 46 thousand tonnes, while domestic production held steady at around 548 thousand tonnes.
