The frozen vegetables market in Kazakhstan grew substantially from 2 821 tonnes in 2018 to a peak of 4 076 tonnes in 2021, an increase of over 40%. This expansion was primarily fueled by a sharp rise in imports, which climbed from 1 702 tonnes to 3 044 tonnes over the same three years, while domestic production remained steady at around 1 100 to 1 200 tonnes annually.

After reaching its highest point in 2021, the market volume contracted to 3 989 tonnes in 2022 and further to 3 449 tonnes in 2023, a decline of 15% from the peak. The decrease mirrored a fall in import volumes, which dropped from over 3 000 tonnes to 2 422 tonnes, whereas local production showed minimal change.

The lowest point came in 2018 with exports valued at 16 thousand US dollars, while 2020 saw the peak at 224 thousand US dollars - a 13.8-fold difference between these extremes. The 2020 export value represented a dramatic 442.1% increase compared to the previous year. The most significant decline occurred in 2018 with a 79.8% decrease.
