The market contracted in 2021 to 67,495 t as both production and imports fell. Consumer preferences began shifting toward environmentally friendly agricultural technologies, which may have altered demand patterns. By 2023, the market recovered to 72,432 t, a year when Latvia's ban on imports from Russia and Belarus reshaped regional trade flows, possibly creating space for Armenian producers.

Throughout the period, veterinary certification requirements set by the Eurasian Economic Union shaped the market for feed residues, affecting product movement and access across member states.
