Earlier Report Observations

The market volume for fresh or chilled beans in the CIS countries fluctuated between 2018 and 2023. After reaching 51 150 t in 2019, it fell to 46 213 t in 2020. This contraction aligned with a 47% surge in frozen food production in Russia, which shifted consumer preference toward frozen alternatives and reduced demand for fresh beans.

A gradual recovery began in 2021, with the market expanding to 49 793 t by 2023. This growth was driven by a reinforced import substitution policy that boosted domestic consumption. Furthermore, the marked expansion of greenhouse vegetable production in 2023 increased the supply of fresh beans, supporting the market's consistent upward trend in the latter part of the period.
