The market for perfumed bath salts and preparations in Finland contracted substantially between 2018 and 2024, with total market value falling from over 5.1 million USD to just 1.2 million USD. This decline of more than 75% was driven primarily by a sharp drop in imports, which accounted for the bulk of market supply.

Domestic production also declined during this period, from 135 000 USD to 39 000 USD, while exports more than doubled from 155 000 USD to 311 000 USD. The net effect was a shrinking domestic market, with the steepest decreases occurring in 2023 and 2024.

After a temporary rebound in 2020 and 2021, the market entered a sustained downward trajectory, ending the period at less than a quarter of its starting size.
