Uzbekistan's almond production expanded markedly between 2018 and 2020, supported by improvements in agricultural yields and cultivation area. The country's output more than doubled over this period, reaching 31 202 t by 2020 and reinforcing its dominance in the CIS almond sector.

The following years saw increased volatility. Production dipped in 2021 before partially recovering in 2022, though spring frosts in April 2022 caused significant damage to almond crops and led to a contraction in exports. Concurrently, imports rose dramatically, from negligible levels to over 2 700 t in 2022, driven in part by ample global supply resulting from favorable growing conditions in North America. This import surge propelled domestic market size to a peak of 33 177 t in 2022.

After 2022, production trended downward, influenced by the aftermath of the frosts, while imports continued to grow, exceeding 4 500 t in 2023. Regulatory developments in Russia, a major export destination, alongside evolving global trade flows, shaped Uzbekistan's almond trade patterns through 2024.

Uzbekistan's almond production increased for the third consecutive year. In 2020, the country produced 31 202 tons of almonds, marking a sharp rise of 45.7% compared to the previous year. Between 2017 and 2020, production grew by 630.6%, which translates to an annualized growth rate of 94.0%.
