EU packaging rules target small produce packs and hospitality sachets from 2027

New EU packaging rules prioritize waste prevention and reuse, restricting selected single-use formats and requiring hospitality businesses to accept customers’ takeaway containers from 2027. The regulation sets binding per-capita packaging-waste reduction targets of 5% by 2030, 10% by 2035 and 15% by 2040 against 2018 levels.
