A recovery in 2021 brought the market to 7 051 kg, nearly reaching the initial level. However, 2022 witnessed a dramatic 40% decline to 4 219 kg. The market rebounded in 2023, growing by 32% to 5 569 kg, restoring part of the previous loss.

After two consecutive years of decline, São Tomé and Príncipe's production of unroasted, non-decaffeinated coffee rebounded in 2020. The country produced 7 000 kg that year, marking a 2.2% increase from 2019. However, looking at the broader period from 2017 to 2020, overall production fell by 10.6%, which translates to an average annual decline of 3.7%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2019 at 6 850 kg, which also saw the steepest year-on-year drop of 10.1%.
