In value terms, the market expanded from 16 206 тыс. $ to 20 531 тыс. $ over the same period, then fell to 15 633 тыс. $ by 2024. This movement was driven primarily by changes in import volumes, which rose sharply to 6 349 t in 2022 but then dropped to 4 396 t in 2023. From 2017 to 2020, Italy, Germany, and the United States were the primary buyers of Romania's twine, cordage, ropes, and cables in terms of volume. Italy accounted for 63.5% of exports, Germany for 13.9%, and the United States for 9.9%. Together, these three countries represented 87.2% of total exports in kind.
