A temporary contraction to 6 504 tons occurred in 2020, coinciding with the global COVID-19 pandemic which disrupted supply chains and altered consumption patterns. The market subsequently recovered, with production stabilizing between 4 650 and 4 690 tons annually from 2021 onward.

Turkey meat and offal production in Sweden has increased for the second year in a row. In 2020, Sweden produced 4 680 tonnes of turkey meat and offal, marking a 2.6% increase from the previous year. Looking at the period from 2017 to 2020, production grew by 9.1%, which translates to an average annual growth rate of 2.9%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 4 240 tonnes. That year also saw the largest decline of 1.2%. In contrast, 2019 experienced the most significant increase, with production rising by 7.5%.

In 2020, the output was valued at 6 209 thousand US dollars, reflecting a moderate decrease of 6.3% compared to 2019. The most significant drop occurred in 2018, with a 19.5% decrease.

From 2017 to 2020, the Netherlands and Denmark were the primary destinations for Sweden's turkey meat and offal exports in volume terms, together accounting for 93.2% of total exports. The remaining volume was distributed among smaller markets.
