The Turkish triticale market volume showed substantial expansion from 2018 to 2023, growing from 169.5 thousand tons to 369.2 thousand tons. This more than doubling of size was marked by particularly rapid growth between 2019 and 2020.

A notable contraction interrupted the trend in 2021, when the market volume fell to 227.8 thousand tons. The market quickly recovered, however, achieving consecutive increases in 2022 and 2023 to reach a new peak.

Throughout the period, domestic production was the dominant component of supply, as import volumes remained marginal. The market maintained a high degree of self-sufficiency, with exports playing only a minor role.

Turkey's triticale production grew for the third consecutive year. In 2020, the country produced 276.2 K t, a 28.4% increase from the previous year. Over the 2017-2020 period, production rose by 84.1%, with an average annual growth rate of 22.6%.
