From 2018 to 2021, the Italian triticale market showed notable fluctuations. Market volume dipped to 86 250 t in 2019 before surging to over 114 000 t in 2020, then contracting again the following year. Domestic production followed a similar pattern, declining slightly before recovering to 63 730 t in 2021.

The market landscape began to see regulatory developments from 2022.
